Sri Chinmoy Off-Road Duathlon Black Mountain

"Ride 'n Stride." The Sri Chinmoy Off-Road Duathlon will be held on Sunday 5 July 2009. A genuine bush race in the heart of the nation's capital, featuring a long and a short course option. The first run course circumnavigates the Australian National Botanic Gardens. The ride and second run courses explore Black Mountain Reserve. Both races start from behind the ActewAGL substation at the end of Frith Rd, Acton at 10 am on race day.

Both short and long races are open to solo athletes and teams of 2 or 3 members. Registration opens at 8.30 am on Sunday 5 July 2008 behind the ActewAGL Substation at the end of Frith Rd, Acton.

News: Sri Chinmoy Cooks River Race Report
21 June 2009 - The first time the Sri Chinmoy Cooks River course was used, in 2008, building works on the cycle path necessitated an alteration which slightly shortened the route. This meant that whoever won their category in today's race was assured of setting a new "official" course record!

8 June 2009 - Winter has descended on Canberra with its usual intensity, but the frisky morning wasn’t enough to deter Canberra’s keen running community from Telopea Park for the Half-Marathon, 5-mile and 2-mile races. Though you wouldn’t know it from the temperature, the sun was out early. Coupled with the none-too-hot weather, it was a perfect morning for a run – and as it was our largest field, it seems that many athletes would agree.
