after the first 24 hours.

Pratishruti Kisamoutdinova, 60, from Smolensk,Russia, led off the first day of the 1300 Mile race with 84 miles, followed by Kate Condon, from Chichester, England, who had 75. Both ladies looked good the first day, despite hot, humid conditions at start-time.By evening, cool, southerly breezes allowed the runners to cruise along with still fresh legs. Petr Spacil, 26, of the Czech Republic and Nicholas Day, 41, of Trinidad started at 12.00 noon exactly 24 hours after the women. Both men are first timers to this distance and we wish them well. By Sept. 20th, some 25 runners will be circling the one-mile loop near Meadow Lake, chasing their dreams, as all three races will kick off this seventeenth anuual multiday event.
