Day 17 - Tuesday 1st July 2003

Namitabha Arsic continues to widen his lead with another 65.30 mile day. The clear, not too hot conditions seemed to help everyone. Andreas Puntigam went through the 1000 mile mark (16+00:27:38) for the third time in his running career. Suprabha Beckjord  followed a few hours later, reaching 1000 miles for the fourteenth time, (16+04:58:40),a great achievement. She eventually was the only other runner to top 60 miles today. Andreas was close with 59.81 miles.
