The heat wave finally ended early Friday evening with clearing skies and shifting
breezes. The runners maintained their resolve, getting through this first major
test of the race. Andreas Puntigam collected 64. 2 miles to lead the group,
with Namitabha two laps behind. Suprabha maintained her third place standing
with 59.81 miles.
