Rimas had to stop after 123 miles early in the dusk of Day 2, as a chronic knee injury ‘forced his hand’. Nataliya ran 69 miles to take over the ladies race, and her 152 mile total made her the overall leader. Stela Doni of Maldova had a great second day of 60 miles,as she stayed out on the course for much of the evening. Trishul Cherns, the 25-year veteran of multiday races led the men with 71 miles and tied Barney McBryde for men’s leader with 144. The clear weather remains yet for another day or two. The Six Day is less than two days away.
