Yo Yo
I have been following your progress online. Seems like your plan is working. I saw the weather was not very positive, so you probably had to do some running "within" today. Dont be afraid to listen to your body and change your plan some if the need arises. Seek out the feeling that brings you positive energy and makes sense in the moment when you think about it.
Eat, drink and take in some fats. Your joints will stay in motion that way. I've been thinking of you since noon on sunday. I tried to send you the images I was seeing on my trail run today, hopefully you have a place you can go within in your mind to see the same.
Pat, your a gem for being a part of this and taking the time to be there and support an athlete on this journey. I hope you brought books to read, MP3 to listen to and are making plenty of friends along the way. If Danny gets cranky, he does not mean most of what he says. It's just one of the swings.
Take Care both of you. I am doing my run tommorrow on a 1 mile loop around a cornfield in celebration of your undertaking. Stay patient and positive, brother.
Peace

WE ARE ALL ROOTING FOR YOU!!!!!!! We have tried calling a couple times but have missed you. Talked to Carolyn today just after she phoned and it sounds like things are going great-except for the tofu. We will keep trying and send all our positive, loving energy to you. Hi Pat, how are you holding up?

Pretty cool to be able to send you an email during
the race! I'm keeping tabs on things via the web.
Looks like you have a good start! Six days is a
long time, alot can happen. Slow and steady, my
friend. Looks like the course is a little flatter
and easier to follow than the Barkley! LOL!
Hope things are going well.

To Danny, Pat and Paul....Stuffing cabbage down your tights ought to keep the ladies wondering. I thought that stashing your money and gloves left quite the impression. Can't wait to see you all back home. Danny -you have had an amazing run-we all have you in our hearts all day--I keep watching on the web site- I think that Ashley and Mary Kate want you to autograph their Cliff bars-Carolyn

A poem of insperation to forget the persperation.
In circles he runs one mile at a time
he runs by the dear Pat tanning in the sunshine
his legs feel strong, and feet feel fleet,
a quick stop in the tent, his honey to meet.
Then back out to business no rest for the weary,
He thinks "I'm feeling great" as the others look dreary,
Some runners worry about bonking or crashin,
Not Danny, no,no ...he thinks about fashion.
What new design shall his sweet babies wear,
a nice summer bonnet with holes for two ears.
It's not only running that makes this man tick,
It's living with passion, and humor, and wit.
It's family and love, and friendships with fire,
So get your butt movin, you really inspire.
Now stop reading this and rip up the asphalt Danny!!!!
