After just missing the American Women's record for 8 km at last weekend's USA 8 km Championship in New York City, Deena Kastor added the record to her collection at the LaSalle Bank Shamrock Shuffle in Chicago this weekend.

Running 24:36 and placing 20th overall in the combined field, Kastor finished nearly a minute ahead of Russia's Tatyana Petrova on her way to eclipsing the 14 year old record of 25:02 held by Lynn Jennings.

Congratulations Deena from the SCMT!

The men's race saw Brian Sell of The Hansons-Brooks Distance Project repeat as champion, defeating Leszek Biegala of Poland by two seconds, 23:17 to 23:19.
