Self-Transcendence Masters Track and Field
Self-Transcendence Masters Track and Field
The 13th Annual Self-Transcendence Masters Track and Field was held on a beautiful sunny Sunday, October 19th at California State University Long Beach.
Over 90 contestents competed in 18 different events. Though no world records were set, many personal bests were achieved throughout the day. The top three athletes in each 5-year age division were awarded medals in each event.
It was a very inspiring day for both athletes and volunteers. I was fortunate enough to serve at the awards table, so I got to see each smiling face as they picked their medals. Being on the verge of competing in masters events, I found it so inspiring to see athletes 20 to 30 years my senior still performing so competitively. I feel I have lots of time to train!
Thanks to all the volunteers and athletes for creating such an inspiring and uplifting event. Imagine if everyone continued to keep themselves fit enough to be inspired to compete in a masters games. I think the world would shine so much brighter.
