Self Transcendence 2 Mile "Virtual" Race RESULTS FOR RACE #7 "In Self Transcendence we get the message of joy" Sri Chinmoy BRITISH ISLES RACE WOMEN ShyamalaEdinburgh 13.15 Dhavala Edinburgh 13.29 Amelia London 15.09 Agnes Edinburgh 16.00 Indrani London 17.01 Sumangali Cardiff 17.14 Bithika Cambridge 17.41 Helena Cambridge 19.02 Diane Cardiff 19.04 MEN Dave Cambridge 12.10 Steve Cambridge 12.21 Uranta Edinburgh 15.45 Clive Cambridge 1 mile ANDUZE (FRANCE) RACE WOMEN Nurari London 14.00 Sahana London 16.43 Bhashini London 17.27 Paula Dublin 18.10 Sarada Cambridge 22.04 MEN Suswara Bristol 11.46 Ollie Cambridge 13.20 Manatita London 15.59 French miles appeared to be a little shorter than their British and Irish counterparts this week, so I took the decision to count the results from the Joy Day race in Anduze as a separate event. That means we have 21 runners this week, four winners instead of just two, and four prizes to award. Shyamala is our new winner of the womens race this week with a storming time of 13.15, twenty seconds quicker than her last virtual race. Dhavala came a close second while Amelia nipped in to take third place ahead of Agnes who recorded her best time so far. Dave recorded his first win in the mens race with a time of 12.10 with Steve close behind in 12.21 - these two are the only chaps to have taken part in all seven races, which is no mean feat. Uranta, who came third with 15.45 was one of three men making their debut this week, the others being Clive from Cambridge who completed a mile, and Manatita who ran in Anduze, having obviously been waiting for a race to take place in a warmer climate. Transcenders from last week included Steve and Sumangali, as well as Agnes, Bithika and Indrani who all recorded their best results so far. Bithika somehow knocked seven minutes off her time from last week - perhaps she has a training secret the rest of us need to hear! In France Suswara was a convincing winner in a roughly 2 mile race that took place on country lanes on a warm but breezy morning in the picturesque valley of the Gardon. Ollie finished strongly to take second place while Manatita came third on his virtual debut. Nurari was first lady, ahead of Sahana, Bhashini, Paula and Sarada. About twenty runners from France, Italy, Hungary, Luxembourg and Bulgaria also took part, not to mention one French dog. Prizes are on their way to all four race winners - many thanks to the kind souls who donated them.
