Another bright sunny evening saw 70 runners at the Self Transcendence 2 mile race in the Meadows this Wednesday (14th May).

A group of 4 runners led by Bog Trotters Steve Cairns and Murray Strain, alongside Napier’s Zac Boukelia and Corstorphine’s Scott Pilkington went through the mile in 4.53.  By a mile and a half Pilkington and Boukelia had both been dropped leaving Cairns and Strain who both pushed it all the way to run a faster second mile.  While both recorded  the same time, the Northern Ireland international Cairns was just ahead.

Cath Ferry went through the mile in 5.47 to win comfortably in 11.44.

Ken Rankin was 1st over 50 in 11th place overall in 11.05 with HBT’s Geoff Mitchell 2nd, and Duncan Baker (a day after his 50th birthday) picking up his first supervet 3rd place medal.

Special mentions to Roisin Bonucchi  of Central AC who was 3rd female in 13.07 and Kate Kitchin of Lothian RC on a comeback finishing in 14.55.
