On a gorgeous spring evening 77 runners lined up in the Meadows, Edinburgh for the first race in the Self Transcendence summer series.
HBT's Murray Strain and Kilbarchan's Paul Arcari headed the field at the 1 mile mark in 4.54 with a chasing group 5 seconds back. Kim Threadfall from Edinburgh Athletic Club was already well clear of HBT's Isobel Knox.
Strain and Arcari were still together at 2 miles (10.00) but Arcari found an extra gear on the last lap to finish well clear at the finish in 15.37.
Threadfall maintained her lead to comfortably win the women's race.
Falkirk's Kenny Rankin took the male vet 50 prize while Hamish Cameron of Forres Harriers was 1st male vet 60.
