Glenrothes Fife 50Km Race - by Agnes
Agnes Molnar (Sri Chinmoy AC Edinburgh) 3rd veteran 50 kilometres (30.8 miles) in 5 hours 36 minutes.

Luckily I didn't take my average weekly running mileage into consideration before entering the Glenrothes Fife 50 km Scottish Championship Race otherwise common sense would have said - No Way. I was hoping that my triathlon training: hours of swimming and cycling would make up for the lack of running miles. Once my body made its way to the starting line a new world opened up. I was slowly following two elderly runners (William and Mike). Once they realised that I worked in Run and Become and knew Tarit they immediately accepted and helped me an experience which has happened so many times to me. Once the pain in my legs became unbearable I had only place to escape to - my heart. All the beautiful experiences from my previous ultras came to my memory. All I could feel was delight in my heart, my body was flooded with light and I would occasionally notice that my legs were moving, carrying me forward. This race for me was very emotional as it has been three month's since my dearest cousin, Milan, passed away. In a sense running this race was my way of transforming my inner suffering into outer pain and letting it go. Whenever I run ultra distance races like this one the experience always brings forward the boundless joy in my heart and gratitude for a most beautiful day, inspiring company, great organisation and for every baby step of self-transcendence I take.
