Glenrothes Fife 50Km Race by Tarit
50k Road Race, Glenrothes, Fife, Scotland Sunday 8 May 2005
Tarit continued his build up to the West
Highland Way race, which is on midsummer weekend, with a steady run at the
Fife 50 kilometre road race which was held on Sunday 8 May. Following his 3.36
at the Lochaber Marathon
two weeks ago he went through the marathon distance in 3.32 in Fife and continued
steadily to finish in 4 hours 16 minutes 23 seconds. The race consists of just
under 14 loops of a 3km+ circuit in Glenrothes in central Fife. Race winner was
Colin Deacy from Coventry in 3 hours 12 minutes. He was comfortably ahead of Kent
based Scot Andy Farquharson (3.21). Despite a valiant last effort women's race
winner Elaine Calder from Strathhaven Striders narrowly missed the women's course
record by 6 seconds recording 3 hours 58 minutes 05 seconds. Jim Taylor and his
experienced, friendly club members from Fife AC organise an excellent event. Full
