Using the inaugural Self-Transcendence Half-Marathon, held in the picturesque Otahuna Valley, as a hit-out for next month’s London Marathon, upcoming Canterbury University runner, Rowan Hooper ran fast and powerfully to easily win the scenic, 7 km 3 lapper ... in a personal-best time.

In second place was Shane Grose (878) in 1-19-22, followed by Brian Miles (830) in 1-21-49. Women’s Half-Marathon winner Tracy Crossley ran 1-28-05.
Bill Richardson missed the hail, thunderstorm and strong winds, that caught the latter finishers in the Self-Transcendence Marathon, to win in 3.31.
Melbourne’s John Zeleznikow (57), survived the storm to complete his 136th full marathon since 1971.
Ben Moore won the men's Self-Transcendence 10 Km Fun Run in 40:39 and Shelley Thompson was first in the women's 10 Km with 47:25.
