Jonathan Wyatt - "Greatest Mountain Runner of all TIme"
Jonathan Wyatt, in the midst of what can only be described as the form of his life, made September 2004 more than special by winning 31st Hochfelln Mountain Run in Bergen last week.
32 year-old Wyatt, described in recent IAAF reports as "exceptional", and by Runners World as "the greatest hill/mountain runner of all time", powered to victory on the mountainous German course in a time of 41:25.1, more than 1 1/2 minutes ahead of second placed Briton John Brown.
Wyatt's winning time was 51 seconds slower than his own record on the 1074m high and 8.9km long course.
The win finished a very special month for Wyatt in spectacular style, beginning with a top 20 placing in the Athens Olympic marathon, and reaching further heights with a fourth career victory in the World Mountain Running championships in Sauze d'Oulx, Italy barely a week later.
