Tjarnarhlaup 7 June
| Fleiri myndir More photos Five runners showed up at the Self-Transcendence Tjarnarhlaup race on June 7 to pit their prowess against each other. Rúnar Páll came again, after a few weeks' vacation, which he spent in France, undergoing serious running training. Rúnar didn't quite reap the harvest of his French training today, as he finished a bit off from his best. Nevertheless, it is only a question of when it starts to kick in, or as Sri Chinmoy explains: "Slow and steady wins the race." Ágúst Örn came second, and he has come to claim second place as his private and personal belonging of late. Ágúst was, as Rúnar was, a bit off his best, but we expect him also to improve in the near future. Third was Þorsteinn, participating for the first time. Þorsteinn had a strong start and ran neck-to-neck with Ágúst in the beginning, but lost his drive in the end. Upajukta came forth, improving his time from his last race for over a minute. Upajukta seems to be starting to reach his former best, since before his appendectomy. Fifth and last was Davíð, who seems to have become a subscriber to last place of lat. Nevertheless, he did manage to improve his time from last week's race for 45 seconds, which, incidentally, is also his personal best this year. Thus, it seems that his constant training is starting to tell. Halfway through the race Ganagane made a welcome, if unexpected appearance, and ran with Upajukta, providing much-needed moral support.
