Sri Chinmoy VII annual marathon "Inspiration". Moscow

To celebrate Sri Chinmoy’s running his first marathon, Moscow Sri Chinmoy marathon team held a marathon on March, 10th. It is the first early spring marathon in Moscow that attracts more and more runners every year not only from Moscow, but also from other cities and countries. In spite of the cold weather, 55 athletes took the challenge of running 42 km 195 m around a picturesque park. Victor Chernysh won with the time of 3:30:00 in the 60+ age category. The best runner in the 50+ category was Victor Gordyushenko (3:25:33.); Mironov Sergey was the fastest of all the 40+ olds (2:45:51); Zhelko Milovic (3:01:12) got the trophy in the 18-39 age category. Women runners had the following results: Galina Yeryomina was the best in the 50+ age category and Anna Khimchinskaya (5:16:16.) ran the fastest among the female runners under 40. The annual SCMT marathon received an enthusiastic support from the local authorities and got a good media coverage in local news programs on Stolitsa and Moscow Sports Channels.
