Sunil swam the English Channel on the 5th of August 1988 in a time of 13hrs 49mins. It was his third attempt. Tributes from Friends “Sunil
had many achievements. He ran a New York City marathon in just over
three hours, and successfully swam the English Channel. He climbed some
of the highest mountains in the world, including Mount Aconcagua, and
was seriously training to climb Mount Everest. But his great
achievement was the love, respect and enduring friendship that he
generated in everyone who met him.” “Sunil
brought the blue sky into our consciousness and encouraged us to fly.
In the office corridor, on a city street or exiting from the icy water,
his spirit shined. I, with his other friends and colleagues have been
blessed to experience in this lifetime, the path of a great soul. His
daily goodness helped him to focus and remain in touch with the source
of spontaneous love and affection we experienced in his presence.” “Sunil
had many sterling qualities. His kindness, graciousness and equanimity
were appreciated and loved by anyone who knew him. If it is true that
the good die young, it is also true that their good deeds live on in
our hearts and minds...” |
