Sri Chinmoy Yarra River Run Race Report

12 November 2006

Yarra River 14km WinnerCongratulations to all who came to race at the Sri Chinmoy Yarra River Run. Mother Nature certainly blessed us all with clear running conditions in between 2 well spaced showers of much need rain.

Although numbers were low this did little to reflect the performances with Andrew Selby Smith setting a very creditable course record in the 14km run of 50.16 completing the first lap of the 7km course over 1 minute ahead of the 7km field.

Andrew (pictured right) is off to Japan next week to compete in the Lake Kawaguchi Marathon in Japan on November 26 and judging by his recent form he should do extremely well. Best of luck Andrew.

In June 2007 we will be staging a half marathon and 7km event on this course with some minor ammendments to remove the dog leg corner near the Morrel Bridge. Stay tuned for more details.

Results and photographs form the day are now available and we look forward to seeing you at one of our upcoming events.
