Sri Chinmoy Eastern Beach Run Race Report

29 October 2006

Eastern Beach JumpCongratulations to all who came to race at the Sri Chinmoy Eastern Beach Run. Perfect running conditions with hardly a hint of wind greeted us all as we ran and walked along the picturesque shores of Corio Bay. From the Beach to the River, Geelong offers many fantastic places to run.

We are extremely pleased to be staging events in Geelong on a regular basis once again as it is a place steeped with a long and illustrious history of national and worldclass runners from John Landy in the 50's right through to Lee Troop of the modern era.

The 10km mens race gave us all a glimpse of the depth of running talent in the region with Colin Thornton taking out line honours in 34.51 followed closely by Darren Riviere in 35.10 with Ken Walker not close behind in a very credible 35.23.

Results and photographs form the day are now available and we look forward to seeing you at one of our upcoming events in Melbourne or back in Geelong.

Our gratitude to the members of the Sri Chinmoy Marathon Team in Geelong for encouraging us to begin racing in Geelong again.
