Leg 3 - Run 7 km

The first run course has a bit of everything - cruising by the lake's edge, a decent climb, panoramic views and some genuine cross-country. Please note that runners MUST carry their own water or other replacement fluid.

Start from the transition under the willows on the beach at Rushes Bay, East Jindabyne. Follow the concrete pedestrian path. Turn right onto a dirt road, then left onto a single track. The track gives way to a rocky shore which you follow. After this you come to a beach. At the end of the beach look for a track leading straight ahead. After 100 metres turn right and head across a beach. On the other side follow a 4WD track uphill. Turn right when you reach the bitumen road and run alongside it down to the point then turn left onto a single track. Turn left onto another track heading uphill. This comes out onto Kunama Dr. Turn right and follow Kunama Dr which eventually becomes a dirt road. Turn right at the old grader onto a 4WD track.

After about 300 metres, turn left onto a single track by a small hilltop with a gum growing at its summit.

Follow an obscure track downhill. Turn left and go through a small gully and then two more small gullies. Turn right and head to a nearby rocky outcrop. Follow an obscure track that runs along fairly level ground then turns uphill to the left onto bare ground. Here you will find a track where you turn and head left. Keep going left. The track then turns to the right between some spiky bushes. The trail becomes quite clear at this point. Follow it behind a row of houses. Take a left fork heading uphill just before a pinkish brick house.

Turn right at Rainbow Dr, crossing where it is safe to do so. Turn left into Alpensee Weg, then left into Tulong Pl.

At the end ot Tulong Pl, follow a dirt trail downhill heading to the right. Nearing the water, join with a trail following the shoreline around to the left. Just before you reach the third beach, turn left at a fork onto a track heading uphill. Turn left at the 4WD track and follow up the sharp hill to the transition in the vacant lot before Rainbow Dr.
